ENG 598U: Writing With And About AI. A course in the Master of Liberal Arts program at the University of Richmond, it explores the conversation about AI and, more importantly, helps students prepare materials for their workplaces to incorporate generative AI cautiously, ethically, and with good pedagogical reasoning.
ENG 383: Composition Theory & Pedagogy. The course prepares near-peer Writing Consultants for work at the University of Richmond's Weinstein Learning Center. I taught it until Fall 2024, when I retired as Director of Writing. You'll find my public syllabus here as a reference for those designing tutor-training classes.
ENG 215: Reading Science Fiction and Fantasy. We explore classic work as well as emerging voices in these fields of speculative literature, with the occasional foray into horror or magical realism.
FYS 100: The Space Race. From Sputnik to the Apollo missions, then a look at "New Space" and plans for human exploration beyond Earth orbit. We explore big questions about why we went then and why we are going again.
Writer's Web: An online handbook developed over the years by students working with me. This version will continue to grow and add content apart from what resides on my employer's servers.
