2018 University of Richmond, Arts & Sciences Cultural Affairs Grant to bring Science-Fiction Writer Fran Wilde to campus to lead discussion of her novel, Updraft and Malka Older for her novel, Infomocracy. Grants also received in 2016 and 17 for Fran Wilde's visits.
2012 Associated Colleges of the South (ACS) Blended Learning Grant to develop interactive, Web-based materials at Furman and Richmond.
2011 Finalist in category “Best Short Fiction” by the British Fantasy Society for “Something for Nothing.”
2011 University of Richhmond Program For Enhancing Teaching Effectiveness (PETE) course-transformation grant for Eng. 216, “Invented Worlds.”
2009 PETE travel grant to study first-year seminars at Cornell and first-year programs at Stanford University.
